The Interfaith Council of Elk Grove Statement
The recent events that have transpired in the Middle East have weighed heavily on our minds. The circumstances offer an opportunity to appeal for Peace.
In discussion as The Interfaith Council of Elk Grove, we offer the following statement of our concern:
On behalf of The Interfaith Council of Elk Grove and our board members of various faith groups, our hearts mourn over the violence that has erupted in the Middle East, a land considered holy by so very many cultures and religions. We affirm our long-standing position of inviting all religions to join together, bringing to the table that which is founded in our love of God and our brothers and sisters with whom, and among whom, we live. We declare our love for All of HUMANITY. We pray, inviting all to join with us, THAT PEACE WILL PREVAIL! For the families of the victims and suffering of all mankind, in the Holy Land and in All Lands, throughout our shared World. The INTERFAITH COUNCIL OF ELK GROVE is composed of religious leaders from numerous cultures and religions in the Elk Grove area dedicated to the unity we share in our love of Humanity, the desire to collectively “do good” within the community. To build, maintain and strengthen dialogues of understanding and fellowship with all who seek friendship and peace in our beautiful world.
