An evening film and panel discussion highlighted those living on the streets in Sacramento and the resources of faith communities working together on Thursday, September 18 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The annual MLK Celebration Sacramento region honors the legacy and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King's commitment to helping change the world for all people. An Interfaith Invocation is featured in the event.  ICGS was a proud essay contest sponsor.

My parents were Protestant and military in the early years before and after they married, being moved away and then settled from family, so it was always just my parents, my sister and I for the holidays. 

Last week was the feast of All Saints, where Catholics honor all of those who have been canonized and models of faith and have been significant in inspiring the current generation how to use the Beatitudes from Matthew’s Gospel to find joy, peace, and justice.

The recent events that have transpired in the Middle East have weighed heavily on our minds. The circumstances offer an opportunity to appeal for Peace.
