We hosted 150 people last Sunday at our latest Power of One Awards Afternoon!
We host this annually to honor community leaders and organizations that make a tremendous difference to the people of Sacramento. It’s important to honor those doing hard work in our communities, often without recognition.
This year, we honored Sister Hansa from Brahma Kumaris, Rev. Goudeaux from Calvary Christian Center, and Joel Schwieger from Joey’s Food Locker. Together, they have served the people of Sacramento for almost 100 years! That can’t get any more impressive than that!
We also honored two community organizations, Fitrah, a very new non-profit striving to give job and life training to youth in need, and S. Sacramento Interfaith Partnership, which has been giving food to hungry families for over 50 years. We feel so blessed to be able to honor both the new organizations and the veterans who are still working hard for the community.
This is what Nadia from Fitrah wrote to us after the Power of One:
“On behalf of our entire board of directors, I want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. Your recognition of our organization at the Power of One event and the generous monetary donation to our mission has truly made a significant impact.
The recognition we received at the Power of One event was a humbling experience for us. It not only validated our efforts but also provided us with renewed motivation to continue working toward our mission. Your acknowledgment serves as a testament to the dedication and commitment of our team and volunteers.”
