Interfaith Colleagues Gathered to Help End the Standoff

The article “While Rabbi Held Hostage, Interfaith Colleagues Gathered to Help End Standoff” is what I hope all of us would want to see if, God forbid, anything like this happened in our city. Interfaith leaders coming together to pray and to help in any way they can while something horrible is happening. Many times, events happen and are over so quickly, we are left only to react to the aftermath. In this situation, interfaith leaders were able to come together as the event was happening to pray and help in whatever way they could.

Could this happen in Sacramento, too? I hope so.

This is why membership in Interfaith organizations is so important on individual and congregational levels.

  1. So interfaith organizations know they have a voice in the community,
  2. So they have contact information for like-minded people and congregations in the area,
  3. So they can gather important information and then pass it on to the community,
  4. So interfaith organizations can bring people together in times of peace and in times of trials, learning, sharing, and supporting each other.
