Part of the Sacramento Fire Department’s Community Emergency Response Team mission is educating the public about disaster preparedness through outreach, training, and public events.
Sacramento CERT is working with CalOES/Listos California to help get Californians more prepared for disasters by helping get the word out about the 5 Steps to Preparedness.
The 5 Steps to Preparedness are:
- GET ALERTS. to know what to do.
- MAKE A PLAN. to protect your people.
- PACK. a GO BAG with things you need.
- BUILD. a STAY Box for when you can’t leave.
- HELP. friends and neighbors get ready.
Listos California/California For All has created a simple flyer and a more advanced toolkit of information to help residents be better prepared for disasters.
Please take a moment and download the 5 Steps to Prepare for a Disaster Fact Sheet (English, Amharic, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Russian, and Tigrinya), and take a look at the Disaster Ready Guide (English, Chinese, Filipino, Hmong, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tongan, and Vietnamese) to get great free information on what you can do to be better prepared during a disaster!
Thank you for taking the time to become better prepared!
