A Special Conference Call for Faith-Based Organizations

May 3, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Sacramento Region VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster Relief) has recently created a special Interfaith committee to concentrate on the resources provided by the faith-based community in times of trauma and crisis. The VOAD region covers four counties; Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, and Yolo, and is a key organization of key partners, including the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and other key community resources, including many faith-based organizations. VOAD has been an integral part of the COVID-19 crisis, by organizing these partners to assist the poor and the needy in times of crisis.

We are inviting key faith-based organizations to be part of this very special Interfaith Committee, to help educate the Interfaith community on how we can assist VOAD and serve those in need, not only during this fight with COVID-19, but in any disaster that might occur. Our focus will be to educate you on how Interfaith is an important component in disaster relief, how to mobilize volunteers, and how Interfaith compliments such government organizations such as FEMA, the California Operations Emergency Services, and local communities.

This Sunday’s conference call will discuss the “Role of Faith-Based Organizations” in disaster and recovery as we continue in the pandemic.
Guest speakers will be from California Operations of Emergency Services. We are excited to have you in the conversation!
