SUMMARY:Wicca/Pagan: Yule – Litha – Northern/Southern hemispheres
DESCRIPTION:*Yule or Yuletide (“Yule time”) is a festival observed by the historical Germanic peoples. Scholars have connected the celebration to the Wild Hunt\, the god Odin\, and the pagan Anglo-Saxon Mōdraniht. It later underwent Christianized reformulation resulting in the term Christmastide. Terms with an etymological equivalent to Yule are used in the Nordic countries for Christmas with its religious rites\, but also for the holidays of this season. Today\, Yule is also used to a lesser extent in the English-speaking world as a synonym for Christmas. Present-day Christmas customs such as the Yule log\, Yule goat\, Yule boar\, Yule singing\, and others stem from pagan Yule. Today the event is celebrated in Heathenry and some other forms of Modern Paganism.

Kamau Bell\, in response to the disproportionate impact COVID-19 is having on underserved\, minority communities\, to ensure people have free access to lifesaving personal protective equipment (PPE) and preventive care. \nWe encourage you to learn more about the beautiful tradition of African American Spirituals starting with a powerful quote from W.E.B. Dubois: \n‘And so by fateful chance the Negro folk-song — the rhythmic cry of the slave — stands to-day not simply as the sole American music\, but as the most beautiful expression of human experience born this side the seas….it still remains as the singular spiritual heritage of the nation and the greatest gift of the Negro people. They are the music of an unhappy people\, of the children of disappointment; they tell of death and suffering and unvoiced longing toward a truer world\, of misty wanderings and hidden ways. ‘ – W.E.B. Dubois from “Souls of Black Folk” (1903) Chapter 14 Of The Sorrow Songs \nJoin the Spiritualing movement! \nSpiritualing is a project of fiscal sponsor Independent Arts and Media based in San Francisco\, CA. \nDate: August 15\, 2020 (Sat)\nTime: 4pm to 5:30pm or 6pm\nLocation: Hopin – an online virtual events venue\nCost: $0 to $100 – pay what you can\nRegistration: https://hopin.to/events/sing-for-justice\nWebsite: https://www.spiritualing.org/events/sing-for-justice \nIf you are willing to help us send our event out to all your members\, we can add you as our In-Kind Sponsor of this event. \nPlease let me know if this is possible. On behalf of the Interfaith Council of Greater Sacramento\, I would like to invite you to be a participant/presenter on zoom to provide our community and your email list words of hope and encouragement to keep the faith regardless of appearances\, which we know is only temporary. \nWe invite you to participate by sharing some inspiring words and igniting the lamp of faith and hope with positive energy by infusing God’s love and presence into your message. Our first priority would be to create peace and remembrance that God is our creator\, protector\, and sustainer. Our attendees should be assured that all humankind is being provided and taken care of in this challenging and\nstressful time of quarantine and crisis. You can express this either by prayer\, meditation\, message\, spiritual song or poem. We must keep the faith that all will be well and that this will lead to unforeseen good in our future. Your 4 minutes may be presented by you or someone of your choosing. Together we can create healing\, acceptance\, and hope for the future even when there is painful loss\, knowing\nthat there is a divine purpose we are yet to see — but knowing with certainty that good will prevail in God’s Divine plan and love. \nPlease RSVP your acceptance to participate in this session before April 14. \nAlso\, it is crucial to announce to your followers\, friends and family on Facebook page\, website\, mailing list\, Instagram\, Twitter\, online services\, etc. Let’s generate quantum spiritual energy!!! \nWe appreciate your cooperation\, openness\, and spiritual support. Please RSVP before April 14 and we will send you instructions and the link. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. \nBlessings\,\nEdrine Ddungu\, President\nInterfaith Council of Greater Sacramento[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
