The Interfaith Council of Elk Grove (ICEG) was formed with a mission of understanding and respecting the differences while honoring the similarities among our faith communities. In December 2020\, the ICEG began sponsoring a monthly Interfaith Prayer Devotional with the hope of uniting Elk Grove’s diverse faith communities around a belief all share: the power of prayer. \nThe devotionals are held via Zoom on the second Friday of each month at 12:30 pm. Each monthly devotional focuses on a single theme and five participants from five different faiths share prayers and readings from their holy text on that theme. \nSince the first Devotional\, almost forty participants from nine different faiths have shared inspirational readings and powerful prayers rooted in the tenets of their faith. These monthly devotionals have fostered an enduring community and a strong sense of kinship among those who have participated. The hope is that the monthly Interfaith Prayer Devotional will continue to serve as a light to Elk Grove and as a demonstration of the universal kinship of all faiths throughout the Sacramento region. \nThe theme for the Devotional on November 12\, 2021\, is Gratitude and Humility-Foundations of Inner Peace. The Zoom Meeting ID is: 380 858 2642 and the Passcode is: unity. \nIf you would like additional information about participating as a prayer panelist or attending the devotional\, please email Ellie Snell at elhamsnell@gmail.com or Jennifer Gibson at jen.gibson@comcast.net. We hope you can join us![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
