We are standing on holy ground.
And I know that there are angels all around.
Let us praise our maker now;
we are standing in God’s presence on holy Ground.

PROCESSION OF THE MAGI – Sacramento interfaith leaders of Sacramento
Today is Epiphany in the Christian calendar. It is the day after the
12th night of Christmas and celebrates the arrival of the 3 magi.
The magi were not of the same religion or race and yet they
recognized the light in Jesus was of God.

Our ground blessers today are from various religious traditions,
but each recognizes the light that radiates from Loaves & Fishes
as reflecting God’s light. They are our magi, our wise ones.

Song:
We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar.
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.
O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.
—-
O park of friendship, park of peace,
Park where suff’ring can decrease
Acceptance there, where people care
Filled with love that will not cease.

THE BLESSING OF THIS GROUND
Father Michael Kiernan, Catholic Faith (Soil from the Sea of Galilee)
Akram Keval, Muslim Faith
Rev. Dave Lyman, Spiritual Life Center
Jan Merrill, Baha’i Faith (Soil from two Baha’i shrines on Mt. Carmel)
Rev. Jason Bense, Lutheran Church
Rev. Jeff Cota, Church of Scientology
Rabbi David Azen, Jewish Faith
Sue Ramsden, LDS Church
Jon Fish, ICGS (Soil from Nazareth)

BENEDICTION – Chris Delany
Chris founded Loaves & Fishes in 1983 with her late husband,
Dan Delany, whom we especially remember this day.

Special thanks to
Rod Ellenberger for directing our music and recruiting the choir,
and
Organizing those blessing the ground, Jon B. Fish for recruiting and organizing the magi.
